FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CAMPAIGN FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Here are some of the questions we often hear!

Is the Capital Campaign still ongoing?
The "Our Roots, Our Family, Our Future" campaign finished its 36-months in May, 2022. We finished very successfully, and the church is in a strong position! We planned very carefully and our funding for the project included a small construction loan and a partnering loan with the Revolving Loan Fund of the Episcopal Diocese of Nebraska. Currently, a Year Four campaign is in progress to target the remaining small construction loan balance, and provide us with a healthy balance to use in our loan partnership with our diocese. The Year Four campaign is our current campaign, and is still accepting pledges.

What is a meaningful amount to give to the Year Four campaign?
If you have been giving to the initial 3-year campaign, the strongest gift would be to continue your pledge for a fourth year, or to continue providing a portion of it. For many of us who are currently "used to" fulfilling that pledge each month or quarter, this represents keeping that discipline a little bit longer, and it goes a long way to helping our church's project!

If you have not yet made a formal pledge to the campaign, you can make one to the Year Four campaign in particular. Our challenge to ourselves for the initial three-year campaign was to prayerfully consider committing 3% of annual household income for each year. This is a way of recognizing that we each give from our own circumstances, and that we can each make significant and meaningful gifts that add up to strong results. We also trust the discernment of each of our households to pledge what we are able to, and give thanks for each pledge!

As we complete a Year Four campaign, will we need a "Year Five" campaign next year?
The Year Four campaign will be our only formal campaign extension. This was an option that was available to us from the outset through our campaign partner, Church Development, with no additional cost for managing it. A Year Four extension is a chance for us, as a church family, to commit one more year of focused giving to put ourselves in an even stronger position for the coming years. We have a specific goal (completing the balance on our construction loan through Security National Bank), and an awareness that focused giving here through this year will put us in a strong position to handle the partnership loan we have with the Diocese of Nebraska through the revolving loan fund, which has very favorable terms. For more information, please contact the parish office at 402-289-4058.

What is currently happening with our campaign now that we are enjoying our new areas?
We have kept a powerful and faithful commitment to this campaign even under the surprise challenge of several pandemic years, and because of a lot of communication, hard work, and careful management, we have begun enjoying the fruits of our labor in our new spaces, with Sunday School and programs for our youth and children, new outreach initiatives and partnerships with COPE and the Magdalene Community, and many parish celebrations in our Parish Hall. We’ll be finishing the three-year campaign very strong. We’ll also be entering our Year Four campaign as a way to position our parish’s finances for strength, health, and a great capacity for ministry for the coming years, and we’ll have some opportunities to hear how things are going and look at our goals ahead in this coming month.

Through May, please keep an eye on your mail for updates and invitations around the campaign. Our parish staff and leadership will be sending on letters in the mail with some updates, info, and invitations. Please also Save the Date for:
  • Sunday, May 15th, Campaign News Meeting: 9:40-10:20 in the Parish Hall. A chance to hear about important milestones, our current strength, and goals for the future.
  • Sunday, June 5th, Our Roots, Our Family, Our Future Celebration! A special potluck party to celebrate the completion of the "Our Roots, Our Family, Our Future" campaign, gather in pledges for the Year Four campaign extension, and enjoy the place we've built with the people we've built it with!
