FORMATION PROGRAMS

One of our values is to keep growing in our faith.

We have programs for our members age 3 to 93! Many of our activities take place during the “program year” from September to May, and several continue through the summer months as well.

While our groups do sometimes change, they include:
  • Daughters of the King (Women’s prayer, Bible Study, service, and fellowship group, 2nd Wednesday morning and 4th Monday evening) Our current president is Pam Wright.
  • Sacred Ground is a ten-session racial reconciliation program of the Episcopal Church done in a committed Circle that commits to having challenging and faithful conversations together, reflecting on materials around a different topic each session. Groups are planned once a year.
  • The Elaine Randall Book Club is a fellowship book club that meets for lunch on the last Tuesday of the month and uses the Omaha Public Library book bag program for regular free book loans.
  • Men’s prayer group and Bible Study (Friday mornings at 7:00)
  • The Rector's Book Club is a monthly Sunday evening book club, with books selected by the Rev. Ben Varnum, our priest. This book club focuses on topics of formation and living out our faith in the world.
  • Walking the Mourner's Path is an 8-week program to talk together about the loss of a loved one. The program uses a workbook and participants commit to attend together, which allows for good trust and conversation over these eight weeks of fellowship and prayer.
  • Seasonal Classes during Advent and Lent
  • Youth Group (grades 6-12, Sunday Mornings & Wednesday evenings)
  • The Education for Ministry program is a four-year certificate program that involves study of Hebrew Bible (Old Testament), New Testament, Christian History, and Theology, as well as annual work on spiritual autobiographies, and weekly work on theological reflection. See link for program information, or call our office for information about our group here!
